Our second community dinner was held on 19 June in Takapuna. We never quite know what fresh produce Kiwi Harvest will be able to share with us each week, and we were delighted that this week allowed for a three course affair – soup with buns to begin, the main was roast chicken and vegetables, and all finished with yummy home baking for dessert (topped with cream of course!). Thank you to our food partners who helped provide the meal – KiwiHarvest, Pak n Save Albany, Bakers Delight and The Herb Patch.
Dino shared some of his story and the hope he has found in Christ. Those who heard thisappreciated his openness and hearing his journey. One person who attended the dinner asked if the person who shared their story also had to cook each week – we are fortunate that Dino is staying on as head chef as I’m not sure that would be the best way to attract people to return!
Thank you to everyone who came to share the warm meal, good conversation and hot showers. Thank you too for all those who volunteered their time to help serve.
